MISSION STATEMENT
To give priority to the poorest of the poor and to those who are most rejected by society.
OUR HISTORY
A 19th Century Vision
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul started with a challenge to a young Catholic Frenchman in the mid-1800s. Frederic Ozanam was asked what he and his faith were doing to help the poor in the community. Unable to come up with an answer and conscience stricken, he started what would become a worldwide charitable network dedicated to serving the poor through person-to-person interaction.

Locally, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been operating since 1972. Our location and methods have changed over time, but our desire to serve the poor has remained the same.
